Here's to more reunions!

Well it was great to see so many people during our 20 Year Reunion Weekend. I think everyone who attended was so happy to have the opportunity to meet up and catch up on what's new and remember good times.

A few of the things that people had mentioned to me was that they were really happy we had a web site to get all of the reunion and class information. I really think it can be used as a resource for all of us to connect about recent accomplishments, new business ventures, and family additions. The other was that people didn't want to wait 5 years till the next reunion to meet up with everyone.
Some of the ladies mentioned about getting together for a fun weekend celebrating our 40th Birthdays. Others thought we could have another Mixer like we had at the Tuscany Grille Restaurant.

Besides reunion photos there is a page on the web site for all kinds of photos. Right now, we have only 3 photos up there, but many more can be added. Future Get-Togethers

There is no reason that we have to wait 5 years to have another mixer or fun social activity. If you want to get a bunch of people together for a UCONN football game or basketball game, build a house for Habitat for Humanity, or meet with your kids and classmates for a night of bowling or an afternoon at Kid City, why not post it to the web site. If you want to send a class-wide email regarding your event or activity, let us know and we'll work together and send out a class evite as well.

Remembering When I Was Young . . .

Well the registration deadline for the Reunion is about 2 weeks away. I am really looking forward to seeing a lot of classmates that I lost touch with, and well just folks that I grew up with and shared childhood memories with.

Now that I am a Mom I think about my childhood and how it relates to my kids. I remember the children that I went to nursery school with, who was in my Brownie or Girl Scout Troop. Who was my first crush. The fond memories of grade school, junior high and high school. As a parent, you want your children to have those same great experiences, those same wonderful memories to hold on to.

Last week my Mom, my girls and I went to John McCabe's family home where his Mom, Barbara was showing a garden display of all of her beautiful lillies. She had a special hybrid flower in memory of her son John, called "John's Heritage". She told me she chose the color of the flower because purple was a favorite color of his based for his love of the "Minnesota Vikings". I thought how amazing, someone I went to school with from nursery school to high school, and never really knew that about him. It made me sad, but it also really made me want to reconnect with all of those "old school" classmates that I went to school with from nursery school and high school. All of those kids that are a part of the childhood stories that I tell my kids about.

I would love to have a large turnout for the reunion, and to have old schoolmates reconnect.

The goal of our reunion is for friends to reconnect and remember good times and create new memories, and well have fun! It's not about who's got what fancy new job, car or house. Who lost 50 pounds or gained 20. It will be just great to visit and chat with classmates that you have memories with, and how funny it will be to see if their son or daughter is an exact replica of them "a mini me".
